OWN Ohio Grade School Dream Team

Yes!  This Grade School list is unusually large, but so are the numbers of youth wrestlers in the state of Ohio.  The sport of wrestling in Ohio and the midwest states has grown and Ohio youth wrestlers are standing out all across the nation at the major tournaments such as the Vegas Freakshow, Reno, Dixie Nationals, NUWAY Nationals, among others.

The next reason this list is large is that with that younger wrestlers come more age divisions and weight classes.

The struggle was real trying to pick only three Grade School Wrestlers of the Year.

With that said, our first wrestler of the year wasn't even a state champion, but may be the most dominant youth wrestler in the state.

Carter Neves needs no introduction to his opponents, as at his young age has won every major and minor championship that is out there.  He took a rare defeat at the Grade School State tournament, but came back and took 3rd, defeating the wrestler who defeated him earlier.

Next is Kane Shawger, and he rivals the dominance that Carter has shown in the state of Ohio.  Without going into his extensive resume, he most recently has won Reno Nationals.

Our third wrestler of the year (and these are in no particular order) is Eli Spencer.  Eli was a double state champion this season and was 3rd at Reno.

The OWN Grade School Dream Team was chosen on balancing the weight classes and age separation.  Ohio Wrestling News is proud to support all the young wrestlers throughout the state.

There is an amazing amount of growing programs/club teams around the state for all levels and especially youth programs, but this years top OWN honors go to BTW, Burnett Trained Wrestling.

Special mention goes to Palmer Wrestling, Wadsworth, and Golden Cross.
