Buckeye state squad tears through loaded HS division

2016 Grappler Fall Classic Registration NOW OPEN!

It started with 48 teams and over 1000 wrestlers stretched across the Lansing Center floor.   The Lansing City Mayor came in to help kick the event off.

5 rounds of pool competition and 3 bracket rounds later not only was the Grand River Rumble trending on twitter from all the video clips we were posting on @michgrappler, but it was also clear that Ohio Mafia was pretty darn good.

Blake Saito (108), Jordan Crace (117), Mitch Moore (138), Mario Guillen (145), Connor Brady/Joey Sanchez (155), Johnny Schaefer (220), and Matt Adams (297) led the Mafia to being unbeated in 7 weight classes on the day!

The Mafia stormed through their pool shutting out 4 of 5 teams they wrestled and losing one individual match through pool play.  In the Gold Bracket, more of the same.   Mafia won 52-6 over Michigan Weset, then 37-9 over a loaded Indiana Outlaw team before downing Rampage (MI) Red in the finals 48-9.

In all, Ohio Mafia lost 8 individual matches on the day out of 104 total matches wrestled.
